Padmashree. Dr. D. Y. Patil

His Excellency Dr. D. Y. Patil, Governor of the State of Tripura, Padmashree awardee is doyen in the educational field in India.He is founder of D. Y. Patil group of institutions and he established three full-fledged universities under section 3 of UGC Act 1956, at Navi Mumbai, Pune and Kolhapur which have several educational campuses all over India. In recognition of his unique contribution to cause of education, he was awarded Honorary Doctorate degrees by World University Round Table, United States of America in 1989 and United Kingdom in 1996. He was also conferred a title of Padmashree by his Excellency the President of India in 1991. His vision is to make India, a strong, self supporting and leading nation through a quality eduaction.
